The Hagerty Wrestling Report (Week of Nov. 18-23)

The JV and varsity competed at the Clash of the Titans tournament this past Saturday.

The JV finished with three placewinners: Rodney Shaw (4th), Robby O’ Hare (3rd), & Christian Gomez (3rd).

For the varsity, the team only had 6 entries in the tournament, with Luke Franco placing in the top 6. Luke lost his second match of the day in the consolation semi-finals. Now that football season is over our line-up will be close to full strength and we look forward to improving.

A couple of notes about this coming week:

1. We will begin our “Reaching Our Goal” fundraiser this week. Please help your wrestler compile a list of 20-25 email addresses of friends & families who would be interested in becoming a fan of our team.
2. We will begin bringing drinks, snacks, & sandwiches to away matches and tournaments. We are asking that wrestlers bring $5 to cover the cost of food. Mrs. Di Bernardo will be sending out an email soon asking for volunteers to donate items as well.

This week’s schedule is as follows:

Monday (11.18.13)

• Regular practice 3:00-5:30 PM

Tuesday (11.19.13)

• Minimum weight certification for wrestlers who missed the first time.
• Regular practice 3:00-5:30 PM

Wednesday (11.20.13)

• Regular practice 3:00-5:30 PM

Thursday (11.21.13): JV (AWAY) at Lyman HS.

• Email addresses are due. All wrestlers are to meet in the Media Center immediately after school so we can complete our fundraiser.
• The bus leaves for Lyman at 4:30 PM. All wrestlers are responsible for finding their own way home.
  • 2:30-3:00 PM: Reaching Our Goal fundraiser
  • 3:00-4:00 PM: Study Hall
  • 5:00 PM: Weigh-ins
  • 6:00 PM: Wrestling begins
    1. Round 1 vs. Lyman
    2. Round 2 vs. Oviedo
• Varsity practice 3:00-5:30 PM

Friday (11.22.13)

• Regular practice 3:00-5:30 PM

Saturday (11.23.13): Varsity (AWAY) at Deltona Duals

• Teams scheduled to compete at the Deltona Duals are: Deland, Deltona, Hagerty, Ocala Forest, Timber Creek, & Yulee. Each team will get 5 matches during this tournament.
• The schedule for Saturday is as follows:

1. 7:30 AM: Bus departs for Deltona High School.  All wrestlers are responsible for finding their own way home from this tournament.
2. 9:00 AM: Weigh-ins
3. 10:00 AM: Wrestling begins.
4. The tournament should end around 5:00 PM.
