Thank you to everyone that helped make my first year as Hagerty High School’s Head Wrestling Coach a special year. These young men worked very hard and accomplished many great things this season. Parents, you should be very proud of the hard work these boys put in. To the parents, thank you for all of your help and support this year. our successes would not have been possible if it weren’t for you.

2015 Clash of the Titans
December 5, 2015 – In our first tournament of the season Hagerty finishes in 5th place with six individual place-winners.

2015 Johnny Rouse Invitational
December 12, 2015 – Hagerty hosted 9 teams in the 6th Annual Johnny Rouse Invitational. We finished our pool matches a perfect 4-0 and advanced to the Championship Final where we lost to Winter Springs. Oliver Hart and Ethan Kaufmann shared team MOW honors. Both finished the day 5-0 with 5 pins.

2015 Bill Scott Lyman Christmas Tournament
December 18-19, 2015 – Hagerty traveled to Lyman High School to compete against some of the top teams in the state. Hagerty finished the weekend in 20th place with two place-winners.

Week 4:
Battle on Broadway
January 6, 2016 – Hagerty traveled to Oviedo to take on our cross town rivals, the Oviedo Lions. The JV Huskies started the night off with a win and the wins continued as the Varsity team defeated the Lions by a score of Hagerty 57 – Oviedo 21.
Ron Peters Tournament of Champions
January 8-9, 2016 – Hagerty traveled to Lake Mary High School to compete in the Ron Peters Tournament of Champions. Hagerty would finish the tournament in 8th place with three place-winners, including our first tournament champion of the season.

Michael P. Hutchins Memorial
January 16, 2016 – Hagerty competed in the Michael P. Hutchins Memorial hosted by Bishop Moore. The Huskies competed well, finishing in 4th place with five individual place-winners.

Lake Mary Dual
January 20, 2016 – Hagerty hosted Lake Mary High School in a dual meet. The JV Huskies wrestled the Rams in a close dual. The Varsity teams followed with the Huskies losing by a score of Hagerty 18 – Lake Mary 66.
Nathan Brouwer Duals
January 23, 2016 – The Huskies traveled to Winter Springs High School to compete in the Nathan Brouwer Memorial Duals. Hagerty Finished the day in 5th place.

Seminole Athletic Conference Championships
February 6, 2016 – Oviedo High School hosted the Seminole Athletic Conference Championships. Hagerty had seven individual place-winners, including three Conference Champions, on our way to a 3rd place finish in the conference tournament.

Week 9:
Senior Night
February 10, 2016 – Hagerty honored seniors Curtis Duren and Ethan Kaufmann as they competed in their last home dual meet of their high school careers. Both Duren and Kaufmann said farewell to the Husky Den with victories by pin leading the Huskies to one last victory, defeating the Lake Howell Silver Hawks.

3A District 3 Championships
February 19, 2016 – Hagerty continued its climb, finishing 2nd in the 3A District 3 Tournament. The Huskies finished with three Champions and ten total place-winners. Each of these place-winners advanced to the 3A Region 1 Championships, where they competed for a chance to qualify for the FHSAA State Championships.

February 26-27, 2016 – Hagerty traveled to Flagler Palm Coast High School to compete for a chance to advance to the FHSAA State Championships. The Huskies battled all weekend finishing in 12th place in the region and advancing one wrestler to the FHSAA State Championships. Curtis Duren placed 4th and advanced to the FHSAA State Championships, extending his high school career by one more week.
Week 12:
FHSAA 3A State Championships
March 4-5, 2016 – Curtis Duren traveled to the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, FL to represent Hagerty High School at the 2016 FHSAA State Championships. Curtis wrestled well, finishing his wrestling career placing in the top 12 in the state.
